Summary: Clifford D. Abrahamson joined the star nation October 12, 2018, as he passed away at this home in Sheyenne, ND. Funeral Services were held October 18, 2018, at the St. Michael Tech Center, St. Michael, ND. Burial was in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Cliff was born July 2, 1952, to Clifford and Beatrice (Jetty) Abrahamson in Devils Lake, ND. He was drafted into the Army in Minneapolis, MN, on January 15, 1975, from there he went to Ft. Myer, VA, and ended his Army experience at Fort Leslie J. McNair, Washington, DC.  He was honorably discharged August 16, 1978, and received a Good Conduct Medal.  He used his veteran benefits to begin his education at Lake Region Junior College, earning an Associate in Arts, Liberal Arts degree, and graduating in 1978.  He then started working for the BIA Police Department.  He returned to further his education at UND and earned a BS in education with composite in social sciences.  He started working in 1986 for Tribal Finance and then for Senior Services Program, Veteran’s Bingo, Dakota Trading Post, Game Cash, Spirit Lake Casino, and Four Winds School.  On May 8, 2006, until present he worked for CCCC. Clifford was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and AmVets organizations. At one time he was married to Rosann (Hanson) Hoffmeyer, but they later divorced. He was the proud father of daughter, Angela May Abrahamson, who later blessed him with four granddaughters.  He was proud to be a veteran, a friend, a confidant, and loved to visit and tell stories.  He had a heart of gold and will be missed by many. He is survived by daughter, Angela (Paul) Kroeplin, granddaughters, Kendra, Katelyn, Kathrn, and Kylie; adopted children, Amanda (Ryan) Domier, Amy (Mike) Jacobson, Billy (Breanne) Hoffmeyer, Kayla Nelson, and girls, Mandi and Andrea; Thomas Owlboy and family, Leona and Jacoby Waldo; brothers, Sonny (Dawn), John Aslakson, Donnie and Dean; sisters, Liz (Bob) Dorherty and Connie Curtis; godchild, Kayla Abrahamson; eight nephews; seven nieces; 20 great- nephews and nieces; aunts, Gloria Jetty, Doris Jetty, and Betty Morin; and many cousins. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; aunts, Marie Baker, Genevia Nash, Doris M. Affeldt and Margaret Abrahamson; uncle, Dave Jetty; niece, Sophia Leaf-Abrahamson; grandparents, Albert and May (Butters) Abrahamson, Ambrose and Frances (Lohnes) Jetty, and Betty Morin.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
