Summary: Tonia Weathersby, 65 , passed away November 16, 2024, at St. Alexius Health Bismarck Hospital. Her funeral service was held November 22, 2024, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Tioga, ND. She was laid to rest at the United Cemetery in Tioga. Tonia DeAnn Weathersby was born March 15, 1959, to Ray Griffith and Jane Jacobs in Jasper, TX. She was raised and educated at Orange Stark High School, in Orange, TX. She later attended Lamar University and completed some college courses. On April 14, 1984, Tonia married Dale R. Weathersby. They made their home in West Orange, TX, where they raised two of their three children, Brandee and Keri. In 1992 the family moved to Fort Madison, IA, and in 1995 they welcomed their third daughter, Kimber. In 2005 Tonia, Dale and Kimber moved to Tioga. In 2021, Tonia and Dale adopted four of their grandchildren as their own (Jaedyn, Ashton, Isabella and Caleb Weathersby). Tonia had many jobs while raising her children with her husband. She worked at Silgan Company, was a tax preparer, a waitress at Alpha’s on the Riverfront, and worked as a paraprofessional in the school setting. By far, her favorite was being a paraprofessional and spending time with kids. Tonia had many hobbies, some were fishing, doing puzzles, crocheting, watching Law and Order, coaching softball when her children played in high school, and spending time with family, especially all her grandchildren. Tonia was well known for being honest and letting everyone know how she felt. She was strong yet extremely kind, loving, and compassionate. She would do anything for anyone, especially for her girls. She was a fighter, she fought until the end, never giving up. Tonia will be greatly missed by her husband of 40 years, Dale Weathersby; daughters, Brandee Slough, Washington state, Keri (Adam) Fedler, Tioga, and Kimber (Andrew) Burt, Omaha, NE. She is also survived by her mother, Jane Jacobs; siblings, Donald (Vicki) Griffith, Bridge City, TX, and Ronald (Theresa) Griffith, Vidor, TX; grandchildren, Jaedyn, Ashton, Isabella, Caleb Weathersby, Grace and Thea Fedler, Malcolm and Holden Burt. Tonia was preceded in death by her father, Ray Griffith; and sister, Sheila Tyler.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
