Summary: Donald Hudson Miller was born on March 30, 1961 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Donald and Norma (Hudson) Miller. He grew up in Ceresco, Nebraska where he attended grade school and graduated from Raymond Central High School in 1979. Don attended the University of North Dakota and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1983. He was an exceptional athlete and participated in multiple sports. Don attended college on a football scholarship and following graduation, he was invited to several NFL training camps and was a member of several practice squads. Throughout Don’s childhood and his adult life, family was the main focus. From his siblings in his early years to his children in his later years, Don’s greatest joy came from family. Don married Amy Peterson on June 5, 2004 at West Hills Church in Omaha, Nebraska and they have made their home in Omaha. Don spent most of his working career with First Data, serving in various senior level positions. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but his passion revolved around family. The activities and academics of his children were always of his greatest interest. His daughters remember fondly the “daddy-daughter days” and how he learned to fix hair and nails. Don loved his dogs and enjoyed the many hours he spent walking with them around the neighborhood. He was a man of great physical strength. Don was smart, helpful, strong-willed and selfless. He was an avid fan of North Dakota athletics, the Chiefs and the Royals. Don savored Crème Brulee and a glass of wine with an evening of fine dining. He enjoyed trips to the wine country and beach vacations to the Carribean. Don will long be remembered for his unique personality and funny quips. Don passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 57 years, 9 months and 5 days.
