Summary: Dale Christopherson, 87, of Wildrose, North Dakota, passed away Tuesday evening, December 13, 2016 at the Tioga Long Term Care in Tioga, North Dakota. His Funeral Service was celebrated Monday morning, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Wildrose, ND with Pastor Zachariah Shipman officiating. Interment took pllace on Tuesday afternoon, December 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Dale Virgil was born on April 16, 1929 to Carl and Bertha (Vollom) Christopherson in Wildrose, North Dakota. He was the youngest of nine children. He attended grade school in Skidstead country school south of Wildrose through the eighth grade. Dale graduated from Wildrose High School in 1947.  Dale attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota to become a licensed electrician. Dale married LaDonna (Jensen) on June 17, 1951 at Grace Lutheran Church in Wildrose, North Dakota. Dale was drafted into the United States Army in December of 1951.  He served in the Korean War as a Sargent in the Signal Corp. He returned home in September of 1953. Together, in 1960 Dale and LaDonna had a daughter, Jo Marie. When Dale returned from the war, he began farming with Andrew Jensen until Andrew’s retirement.  Dale continued farming on his own, at the age of eighty he retired. Dale also was a licensed electrician and worked with Rotowall Electric in Tioga as needed. Dale’s passion in life was farming, he enjoyed driving to various fields checking on his crops. Dale enjoyed playing baseball, traveling with LaDonna to all fifty states, and every continent, except Antarctica, because he said North Dakota is close enough! Dale was very proud of his family, especially his grandchildren, Andrew and Alyssa, they were the light of his life. Dale was very active in his community. He served on the Wildrose City Council, the Wildrose School Board, and the Church Council. He was also a fireman, and a member of the American Legion. Dale is survived by his wife of 65 years, LaDonna “Dolly”; daughter Jo Marie (Kevin) Holm; grandson, Andrew Dale; granddaughter, Alyssa Marie; and numerous nieces and nephews; sister in law Murial Christopherson. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and in laws, Josie and Andrew Jensen; five brothers; two sisters; and two infant siblings.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
