Summary: Warren Dalbec, 68, of Carrington, ND, passed away February 24, 2025, at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown, ND. A funeral service was held February 28, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington. Burial was at Carrington Cemetery. Warren Francis Dalbec was born in Bismarck, ND, on July 2, 1956, the son of Francis and Irene (Nye) Dalbec. He grew up in Wing, ND, and attended school there until the 8th grade. His father worked as a rural mail carrier and at that time was transferred to Cooperstown, ND, where Warren graduated from high school. He attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND, to be an auto mechanic. His first job after graduating was at Farmer’s Union Oil in Rolla, where he met Jolene Hamley through a mutual friend. They were married on September 22, 1977, in Rolla and they made their home there. They were blessed with two children, Angela and Johnathan. Warren loved to tinker and figure things out. This started at a young age and was encouraged by his Uncle Orville, who brought Warren a bunch of old meters that were taken apart. He worked on putting the meters back together on the living room floor, much to his mother’s displeasure! His hobbies included working on computers, DIY projects, watching Westerns on TV, and traveling to state parks and zoos. He was not only busy with his work, family, and hobbies, but also found time to serve on the Trinity Lutheran Church Board as a trustee, then vice president, and finally president. Warren always liked a challenge, so after working as an auto mechanic for a couple of years, he decided to train on-the-job to be a diesel mechanic and work on farm equipment. In 1988, the family moved to Carrington, where he worked at the Farmer’s Union until it closed. Erickson Implement then offered him a job and he worked for them until it was taken over by High Plains, where he was employed until his death. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Jolene, of Carrington, ND; daughter, Angie (Reda) Elsayed, of Minneapolis, MN; son, Johnny (Kim), of Mandan, ND; grandsons, Frederyk (Fred) and Sawyer (Soy) Dalbec, of Mandan, ND; granddaughters, Tehya Schroeder, Minneapolis, MN; adopted granddaughters, Amarah Strong, Ciara Elsayed, Jasmin Elsayed, Lily Elsayed, and Roxanne Cook, Minneapolis, MN; a brother, James (Kaye) Dalbec, Olathe, KS; sister, Jeanne Nelsen, Houston, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Irene; in-laws, Joseph and Marie Hamley; brothers-in-law, Donald Nelsen, Dennis Hamley, Reginald Hamley; and nephew, Jason Hamley.
