Summary: Richard “Dick” Charles Semingson, 79, of South Heart, ND, passed away March 18, 2025, at his South Heart residence. A funeral service was held March 24, 2025, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Burial was at a later date. Richard Charles was born in Crosby, ND, on February 5, 1946, the son of William and Lillian (Postovit) Semingson. He attended school for ten years and Dick’s younger years usually involved a car or pickup and many times driving ‘fast’ toward mischief. Richard met the love of his life, Elaine Kohanes, and they were married in Dickinson on December 12, 1990. He was lucky to inherit three adult children and two grandsons. Dick was a HB&R Hot Oil truck driver, and worked for numerous trucking companies. He delivered parts or trucks for Wesley Motors, and hauled tanks and drove truck for Diamond K Hauling. His truck took him to North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Alaska. Some of his fondest memories were working in Alaska, enjoying the wild life and the prime rib/lobster dinners. Dick enjoyed his days with longtime friends, Ernie Hellickson and Greg Krance, spending time at Ernie’s ranch on the Missouri River, calving and haying. Dick will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone whenever he was called upon. If someone needed hay or cattle hauled, he was ready to climb in the truck and get it done. If you were having auto problems, you called Dick and he could tell you what was wrong or he guided you through checking what the problem could be. Dick was especially proud of all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had a strong love for his dogs and everyone else’s. Dick is survived by his wife, Elaine; children, Suzanne (Brandon) Brown, of El Reno, OK, Julie (Tyler) Cook, of Forsyth, MT, Kelly (Debbie) Kohanes, of Forsyth, MT, Justin (Kiffin) Kohanes, of Beach, ND; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda (Arlen) Olsen, of Crosby, ND, Linda Spears, of Green Valley, AZ; brother, Larry (Sharon) Semingson, of Hillsboro, OR; one of his best friends, Greg Krance; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillian Semingson; one of his best friends, Ernie Hellickson; brother-in-law, Lew Spears.
