Summary: Anna Marie Ries passed away March 22, 2025, at St. Benedict’s health center, Dickinson, ND. A private funeral service was held at a later date. Inurnment will take place St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Anna Marie Keller was born January 12, 1933, in Dickinson, the daughter of John and Josephine (Koffler) Keller. She grew up attending St. Joseph’s grade school, graduating from Dickinson High School. Anna Marie was united in marriage to Leonard Ries on June 9, 1952, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple was blessed with two sons, Stephen and John. Anna, Leonard and the boys lived alongside the railroad tracks in South Heart, ND. She was a devoted mother and homemaker, assisting Leonard in the railroad depot, where he was the clerk. After the boys graduated, Anna Marie and Leonard moved to Dickinson in 1985. Together, they enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Other hobbies were playing the piano and card games. Anna Marie cherished time spent with her family and friends. Anna Marie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for many years. Anna Marie is survived by her sons, Stephen (Rita) Ries, of Dickinson, and John Ries, of Corpus Christi, TX; four grandchildren, Jeff Ries, Mark Ries, Allison Ries Rasmussen, Michael Ries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; parents, John and Josephine Keller; brothers, George, Peter, Edward, Albert and Ted Keller.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
