Summary: Thomas Spottedbird (Tasiyotanka Wakinya Uye ~ His Whistle Calls The Thunder), 25, of Belcourt, ND, passed away March 12, 2025. A funeral service was held March 19, 2025, at Ft. Totten Rec. Center, Ft. Totten, ND. Burial was at the St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, Ft. Totten. Thomas Kenroy Spottedbird was born on December 25, 1999, to Vernon Spottedbird Sr. and Lynissa (Miller) Bull in Devils Lake, ND. He graduated from Four Winds High School in 2018. He recently worked at Stu’s Furniture in Belcourt. His hobbies were playing basketball, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with Cheyenne and the kids. He is survived by his mother, Lynissa (James) Bull; father, Vernon (Renita) Spottedbird Sr.; lifelong companion, Cheyenne Poitra; children, Tehkeome King, Taiden Khyruss, Terayah Kalli and soon to be born baby girl; brothers, Vernon Jr., Durwin Bull and Keysten Bear; adopted brother, Anthony (Buck) Tallman; sisters, Malaina, Juliyah, Lariah Spottedbird, Elise, Delemma and Jamie Bull; adopted sister, Patricia Monette, Piagon McKay; traditionally adopted parents, Sharon and Solomon Peltier; many adopted brother, sisters, aunts and uncles; aunts, Tara Spottedbird, Dacia Lamrose, Jenny White, Wanita Jensen, Tara Spottedbird, Faith, Hope and Janet Tomahawk, Sharon Feather and many more; uncles, Dustin Foote, Evan Hill, Cory Jensen, Sheldon Greywater, Shobie Shaw, Russell Cavanaugh, William (Bill) Tomahawk and many more; great-grandpa, Josie Lawrence; grandpas, Leonard Allery and Patrick (Benny) Cavanaugh; grandmas, Delphin Longie, Evelyn, Estelle and Anita Cavanaugh, Alverda DuBois and Kim Cavanaugh. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmas, Josephine Tomahawk and Genavive Nash; grandmas, Joyce Tomahawk, Francine Lamrose and Chyle Tomahawk; grandpa, Kenneth Vernon Spottedbird Sr., Kenneth Jr.; aunts, Karlene, Kenda and Janel Spottedbird; uncles, Kenneth, Franklin and Kevin Spottedbird; adopted uncle, Kenroy Rainbow, and many other grandmas, grandpas, great-grandpas and great-grandmas.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
