Summary: Dawn Tufte, 40, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Carrington, ND, passed away April 29, 2025, at her home in Jamestown. A funeral service was held May 5, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington. Burial was at the Carrington Cemetery. Dawn Elizabeth Chepulis was born on April 2, 1985, in Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of Paul and Elaine (Thomas) Chepulis. She attended school in Devils Lake and graduated from Devils Lake High School. She went on to attend Lake Region State College and graduated with an administrative assistant degree in 2005. During this time, she met the love of her life, Brandon Tufte. Dawn and Brandon were married on September 22, 2007, in Carrington. Together, they were blessed with three children: Alexander, Melody, and Spencer. The family made their home in Carrington, where Dawn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and sang in the community choir. Her family meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment she had with them. In 2017, Dawn and Brandon lost their beautiful children in a devastating house fire. Dawn and Brandon leaned on their faith to navigate the road ahead. Dawn kept busy by furthering her education at Lake Region State College and graduated with a degree in business management in 2019. Dawn and Brandon then moved to Jamestown, where she worked at the North Dakota State Hospital. Dawn had many hobbies that she enjoyed, including latch hook, singing, fishing, camping, and spending time with her husband and three dogs, Sam, Maggie, and Odin. Dawn was known for her giving heart and caring nature. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband, Brandon, Jamestown; parents, Paul and Elaine, Devils Lake; sisters, Karen (Gary) Eback, Devils Lake, and Nicole Faine, Devils Lake; father- and mother-in-law, Mike and Harriet Tufte, Carrington; sister-in-law, Sabrina Tufte, West Fargo; brother-in-law, Michael J. (Megan) Tufte, Prairie City, IA; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was greeted in heaven by her loving children, Alexander, Melody, and Spencer; grandparents, Frank and Jean Chepulis, and Nick and Lena Thomas.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
