Summary: Carla Holte, 82, of Dodge, ND, passed away May 3, 2025, at Sakakawea Medical Center in Hazen, ND. Per Carla’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are being held at this time. Carla Louise Gindlesberger was born on November 7, 1942, in Oakland, CA, to Floyd Daniel and Louise Adeline (Flugel) Gindlesberger. She was one of four children, including her brothers, Jim, Richard, and Bob. Carla grew up in Oakland. Carla met Dewey Holte in Canyonville, OR, where they lived until they married on July 1, 1988, in Reno, NV. They were blessed with four children, Debra, Catherine, Shannon, and Brian. The couple retired to Dodge, ND. Carla enjoyed cooking, painting, crocheting, and tending to her roses and house plants. Carla is survived by her husband, Dewey; children, Debra Cloinger, Catherine Kay, and Shannon Roberts; 11 grandchildren, Derrick Duggins, Sarah Johnson, Tiffany Olson, Marissa Ferrando, Hayden Kay, Carla Cloinger, Brittney Porter, Grace Porter, Austin Porter, Mo Singer, and Aaron Roberts; and 17 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Audrey, Emelia, Aurora, Delores, Luna, Nova, Sebastian, Prarie, Rowan, Memphas, Remi, Gentry, Dempsey, Alleigh, Charlie, and Quenten; stepchildren, Shannon (Sally) Holte and Tabatha Holte; step-grandchildren, Samantha and Julia Holte; and a half-sister, Shirley Gindlesberger-Harris. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Louise; her son, Brian Porter; and her brothers.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
