Summary: Mary C. Topp, 87, of Carrington, ND, died June 15, 2025, at Golden Acres Manor with family members by her side. Her funeral service was held June 19, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington. Burial was at the Grace City Cemetery. Mary Catherine Meier was born on July 4, 1937, to David and Rose (Schaack) Meier. She graduated from Grace City High School. Mary married her high school sweetheart, Royce A. Topp, on October 9, 1955. They lived on the family farm until they moved to Carrington in 2005. Mary and Royce enjoyed hosting card parties and square dancing. She enjoyed playing cards, watching the Minnesota Twins, and watching her grandkids and great-grandkids’ many activities. Mary was known for her carmel rolls, homemade buns, and turtle cookies. Mary was a valued member of the community. She was involved as a member of the Grace City United Methodist church, including serving as the Sunday School superintendent for a time. She was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington and volunteered to help with sending out the newsletters. She served on the Senior Citizen Board and was an enthusiastic member of the Carrington Lions Club. Mary is survived by her daughters, Candice (Reggie) Grinde, Richville, MN, Marsha (Larry) Scanson, Grace City, Jackie (Jerry) Rausch, Eden Prairie, MN, Brenda (Jim) Lepinski, Riverview, FL, Cara (Greg) Olson, Minot, ND, Paula (John) Peterson, Portland, ND; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Royce; her parents; brothers, Bill and John; sister, Doris; grandson, Chad; and numerous in-laws.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
