Summary: Linda Ann Halverson, age 72, passed away January 7, 2019, in Goodyear, Arizona following a horse-riding accident. Linda Ann was born in Fargo, ND at St. Johns Hospital to Robert and Bertha (Birdie) Schulte on March 22, 1946. She went to grade school at St. Joseph Catholic School in Moorhead, MN and graduated from Shanley High School in Fargo, ND in 1964. Linda attended the North Dakota State University and that is where she met the love of her life, Roger Halverson in an Animal Science class. They were married on March 18, 1967 at the Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN. Once Roger graduated college in May of 1967, they moved to Rolla, ND where Roger began his teaching career and Linda looked forward to starting her family. Linda and Roger then moved to Kenmare, ND where their first child was born in July of 1968, a baby girl named Tara. In August of 1971 they had another baby girl named Tana. A few years later they moved to Williston, ND and had 2 sons, TJ and Jon, they were born in May of 1978 and May of 1980. They remained in Williston, ND until 1996 where they then moved out to the Halverson Family farm in Tioga, ND where they continued to live. Upon Roger’s retirement from teaching, they were able to begin spending their winters in Arizona in 2006. They spent many winters there roping, riding, and spending time with the multitude of friends. Linda had a lifelong love of horses. She also enjoyed spending her summers at the family cottage on Pelican Lake in Minnesota. She loved being a wife, mother and a friend to all. Linda loved to travel with her sister, Roberta and see new things. She was involved in Ladies Aid at Beaver Creek Lutheran Church. Linda cherished having a house full of people and being around family and friends. She spent many hours sewing clothes and making blankets and quilts, she also loved to paint pictures. She was also a huge supporter of her family; she never missed an event that one of her children had. Linda was well-known and loved for taking care of everyone; nobody ever went home hungry. She loved cooking for friends and family as well as making beautiful quilts for everyone she held dear. She was loved by many people, and will be remembered for her caring personality, generosity, and willingness to do anything for anybody. She will be greatly missed! She is survived by her husband, Roger Halverson of Tioga, ND and Wickenburg, AZ; sister, Roberta Schulte of Sunnyvale, CA; brother, Dr. Robert Schulte Jr. of Pelican Rapids, MN; daughters, Tara Halverson of Williston, ND and Tana (Donavan) Dally of Gillette, WY; sons, T.J. Halverson of Tioga, ND and Jon Britni) Halverson of Gillette, WY; and grandchildren, Brett Dally, Brody Adsit, Kaitlyn Halverson, Levi Halverson, Colt Dally and Hans Halverson. She was preceded in death by her dad, Robert Schulte, and Mom, Bertha (Birdie) Schulte.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
