Summary: Steven Swift Eagle passed away at his home in New Town, ND, on July 24, 2025. His funeral service was held August 1, 2025, at the Water Chief Hall in Mandaree, ND. Steven was born February 9, 1994, to Jolene Swift Eagle and Tracy Wounded Face in Bismarck, ND. He grew up in Mandaree, and was raised by his auntie-moms, Denise (Monte) Lincoln and Amanda (Keith) McKenzie. He attended school in Mandaree from the beginning of his elementary years until 9th grade. Steven enjoyed playing his guitar and expressing himself through music. Auntie bought his first guitar, and he picked up playing without reading music. He also enjoyed horseback riding, playing horseshoes, and driving around with his dad, Tracy. Steven loved his family, always visiting and helping his sister, and just spending time with them. Hunting and fishing with his late Uncle Monte Lincoln and Keith McKenzie gave him a love for the outdoors. He loved playing basketball either in person or on the Xbox or PlayStation. Later in his lifetime, he met Kuinn Star (deceased). Their son Reveri Crimson Swift Eagle was born and Steven loved his son with everything he had. Steven made sure he was always taken care of. Crimson was his whole world. Steven was part of the Dripping Dirt clan, preceded by death into the Prairie Chicken clan. Steven will be dearly missed by Sabrina Wounded Face, Virginia Grady, Rachel Grady, Mariah Grady, Oscar Grady, all of New Town, Dustin Wounded Face, Jon Wounded Face, Ruby Ann Wounded Face, Lacy and Tracy Wounded Face, all of Mandaree. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Tracy Wounded Face; grandfathers, Joe Wounded Face, Ruben Swift Eagle; grandmothers, Lillian Mae Smith, Frances Jane White Owl.
