Summary: Beverly Mittelstadt, 92, of Killdeer, ND, passed away August 4, 2025, at Hilltop Home of Comfort, Killdeer. Funeral Mass was held August 8, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Killdeer, with Father Joseph Evinger Celebrating. Burial was at Killdeer Cemetery. Beverly Mittelstadt was born on July 24, 1933, in Killdeer to Norval and Muriel Hartman. She was raised on a ranch near Grassy Butte, ND, where the values of hard work, humility, and quiet strength took root in her spirit. At the age of 40, Beverly underwent open-heart surgery during a time when such procedures were still new and uncertain. Doctors gave her five to seven years. She accepted that news not with fear, but with gratitude — thankful, she said, that her children would grow up and graduate. That was Beverly. Even in the face of hardship, she always thought of others first. But she didn’t just survive those predicted years — she lived more than five decades beyond them, each one filled with purpose. Beverly gave her time, her wisdom, and her heart to her community. She served on the local nursing home board, treasurer of Dunn County Red Cross and the literacy board, always contributing quietly, never seeking the spotlight — only the good of others. Later in life, as her health declined, Beverly’s character continued to shine. While she was in the hospital recovering from surgery, the local nursing home contacted the family — not to ask if they could help, but to say a bed had already been set aside for her. “Don’t worry about a thing,” they said. “We’ll take care of it.” That kind of gesture doesn’t come from luck. It comes from a lifetime of earned respect. Among the many people who loved Beverly, her nephew Ron and his wife Cindy held a very special place in her heart. Their presence, support, and care over the years brought her joy and comfort that words can’t fully describe. Beverly taught her family not just how to live — but how to carry themselves with dignity, to give without needing recognition, and to love without condition. Beverly may no longer walk this earth, but she will never leave our hearts. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched — and most deeply in those of us who were lucky enough to call her ours. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Denise Rambur; son, Myles (Pam) Mittelstadt; son-in-law, Vernon (Darlene) Judy; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson; and very special friends, Kathleen Stroh, Evelyn Stroh, and Angie Fettig. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norval (Muriel) Hartman; brother, Neale (Mary) Hartman; sisters, Darlene (Norbert) Schwahn and baby twin sister Shirley; son, Dan Mittelstadt; daughter, Patty Judy; grandson, David Judy; and granddaughter, Michelle Judy.
