Summary: Monte Herman, Jr., died unexpectedly December 21, 2020, in Maddock, ND, at the age of 33. Mass of Christian burial was held December 28, 2020, at St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND. Burial was at the Albert’s Family Cemetery, St. Michael. MJ was born July 31, 1987, to Monte Herman, Sr. and Lorraine Alberts in Devils Lake, ND. He was baptized at St. Micheal Church in 1987. He grew up in East Grand Forks, MN, and Wahpeton, ND. He went to school in East Grand Forks, and Wahpeton. He got his GED in Bismarck, ND. MJ attended college at UTTC in Bismarck for mechanics and was currently doing online classes from Fort Totten Community College. MJ was united in marriage to Amber Torma on November 1, 2013, in Wahpeton. MJ had three sons and one daughter from previous relationships. MJ was a natural mechanic and enjoyed working on and fixing different things, including computers. MJ had a heart of gold, and would have given the shirt off his back for you. MJ will be missed deeply by his family and friends. MJ is survived by his wife, Amber; mother, Lorraine Alberts; father, Monte Herman, Sr.; three sons, Alakye, Malakye, Alec; daughter, Kateri; brothers, Brett Alberts and Dylan Herman; sisters, Flora and Bobby Lou Herman, Fallon Cavanaugh, Renae Alberts; Grandma’s, Cynthia Alberts, Celeste Herman, and Myra Lohnes; Grandpa’s, Frank Redroad and Frank Lohnes; godfather, Brian Thunder, Eunice Green; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by Robert Herman, Sr., Robert Herman, Jr.; Grandpa Pierre, Grandma Florastine Culbertson, Julianne Smith, Baby Dave, Great-Great- grandmother, Victoria Twiggs, Romauld Alberts, Sr., Romauld Alberts, Jr., and Joseph Alberts, Sr.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
