Summary: Allen Arthur Alberts II (Wakiyan Hoksina/Thunder Boy), 45, of St. Michael, ND, started his journey to Star Camp to be with our ancestors on October 17, 2025, at home with his family. A funeral service was held October 24, 2025, at St. Michael Rec. Center. His Burial was at the St. Thomas Episcopal Cemetery, Ft. Totten, ND. Baby Al is the son of Imogene Belgarde and the late Allen Alberts Sr. He was born on February 15, 1980, in Devils Lake, ND. He grew up on the Spirit Lake Reservation attended Tate Topa Tribal School and Jim Hill Junior High in Minot, ND, and graduated in May 1998 from Four Winds High School. In 1995 Allen met Margaret Twobears on the powwow trail and began a lifelong relationship. They were teenagers when their oldest son, Koltyn, was born. A few years later, their beautiful daughter, Maria Rose, was born. After their separation, Allen met Christine Mindt and from this relationship came their daughter, Shakira. Some years later Allen met Jessie Mason and from this relationship came Asher, Starlit, Sawyer and Gabriel and he claimed her other children as his own as he loved children. Baby Al grew up on the powwow trail. The first time he danced in Roseau River, MB, CA he placed 1st in Jr Boys Traditional. He became a champion traditional dancer. He was active in our Dakota ways learning to sing and attending ceremonies. He had great singing teachers, learning songs from Earl Bullhead, Elmer White Sr., and Paul Little, all legends who have made their journey home. Traveling to powwows to sing and dance brought lifelong friendships with many families throughout the United States and Canada. Everywhere Allen went he made instant friends who became family. He was always joking around and teasing everyone he crossed paths with. He had very few things in life because if someone needed something, he gave it to them. He had a big heart for the homeless and less fortunate. He would take his shoes off and give them away, same with his sweaters. If someone called for help, he was there. He would do anything to help anyone. Allen is survived by his mother, Imogene Belgarde; his children: Koltyn Twobears, Maria Alberts (granddaughters, Azara and Ashytn), Shakira Alberts (granddaughter, Kelilah), Asher Alberts, Starlit Alberts, Carlit Mason and twin sons, Sawyer and Gabriel Mason; his lifelong special friend, Margaret Twobears of Cannonball, ND.
