Summary: Johnny Conlon, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 14, 2026, at the age of 67. Funeral Mass was held April 6, 2026, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Hebron, ND, with Father Gary Benz celebrating. Burial was at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites by the Theo R. Zech Post #180 of Richardton, ND. Born on December 1, 1958, in Dickinson, ND, the son of Raymond and Ruth (Mayer) Conlon , Johnny lived a life full of adventure, passion, and cherished connections. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Growing up in Dickinson and Hebron, Johnny's spirit was shaped by the wide-open fields and the warmth of a close-knit community. After proudly serving in the US Army from June 2, 1976, to June 1, 1979, he returned home, where he had a successful career in the beef industry. Johnny married Linda Koch on July 9, 1994, in Richardton, ND. He began his journey at Red Owl in the meat departments of Dickinson and Valley City, later opening his own meat cutting store in Hebron. His entrepreneurial spirit continued to shine as he opened Johnny's Café in Richardton, which he joyfully ran until 2020. Most recently, he worked as a meat inspector for the US Department of Agriculture, fulfilling his role with dedication until his retirement in 2022. An avid outdoorsman, Johnny cherished time spent hunting deer, antelope, and coyotes, as well as fishing in the beautiful landscapes of North Dakota. His love for the skies took flight when he earned his flying certificate, relishing the freedom of piloting his 1966 Cessna 172 G Sky Hawk. Music was another cherished part of his life, whether he was strumming his guitar or listening to the soothing sounds of 60s and 70s country music and soft rock. Amid his many interests, his bond with animals, particularly his beloved cat Cuddles, brought him immense joy. Johnny loved spending time with his family and was often known for a good joke or two. Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his two stepsons, Travis (Jessica) and Casey (Heather) Martin; his twin sister, JoAnn (Ronny) Schantz; brothers, Tom (Joan) and Russell (Lisa) Conlon; sisters, Sandy Conlon and Sharon Ornelas; and four step-grandchildren, Mariah, Tanner, Libby, and Cloe; and nine nephews and seven nieces; He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Vincente Ornelas; and a great-nephew, Maximus Kongslie.

The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
