Summary: Patricia Ann "Pat" (Leintz) Gathman, 88, of New Rockford, ND, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, in New Rockford. A Mass of Christian burial was held April 21, 2026, at St. John’s Catholic Church, New Rockford. Burial was at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, New Rockford. Born on July 10, 1937, in Lincoln Valley, ND, patricia was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Hilda (Koepplin) Leintz. She graduated from Anamoose High School at the remarkable age of 16 and went on to earn her registered nurse's degree from Trinity Nursing School in Minot. Her career was marked by a deep commitment to caring for others. She spent many years working in nursing homes in Minot and New Rockford before transitioning to social work due to health challenges. Her dedication to helping others left an indelible mark on the communities she served. Pat met the love of her life, Theodore "Teddy" Gathman, at a dance in Anamoose while Teddy was visiting relatives. From that moment on, they were inseparable. Together, they built a life centered around faith, family, and love. Pat’s Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life and guided her every step. She found joy in simple pleasures such as cleaning, gardening, canning, spending time with her family, and enjoying days at the lake. Known for her devotion to Teddy’s well-being, she often lovingly nagged him about watching his diet—a testament to her care for those she loved most. Patricia is survived by her children, Rod (Myrna) Gathman, Kevin (Lisa) Gathman, David (Deneen) Gathman, and Lisa (Lonnie) Thompson; her grandchildren, Shane (Keisha) Gathman, Ashley Gathman, Derek (Megan) Gathman, Alyssa (Josh) Worrall, Andrea (Tyler) Mund, Devin Gathman, Alexa (Jake) Ries, Amber (Kalton Agnes) Gathman, Courtney (Zach) Hansen, Jacob (Mikki) Gathman, Katelyn (Andrew) Kapaun, and Hunter (Tessa Dockter) Thompson; and her great-grandchildren, Benson, Kaden, Rhett, Thea, Kitt, Bea, Colter, Kyson, Laramie, Aubree, Presley, Locklyn, Arya and Dak. She is also survived by numerous cherished in-laws including Jean (Francis) Hennessy, Judy (Bob) Schwehr, Kenny (Ardyce) Gathman, James (Teresa) Gathman, Laurie Gathman, Steve (Kim) Gathman, Mary Kurtz, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy; her parents, Joseph and Hilda (Koepplin) Leintz; siblings, Marian (Lloyd) Miller, Marvin (Joyce) Leintz, Frances Leintz and Galen (Louise) Leintz; father- and mother-in-law, Theodore and Bernice Gathman; brothers- and sisters-in-law Francis (Virginia) Gathman, George (Patricia) Gathman, Gary Gathman, Kathy (Vergil) Moser, Joel Kurtz.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
