Summary: Lloyd Clifford Carlson, 57 of Warwick, ND, passed away on May 16, 1973, at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake with his family at his side. Funeral services were held at Warwick Lutheran Church on May 19, 1973, with Pastor Roger Brockmeyer officiating. Burial was at the Warwick Cemetery. Lloyd was born on January 3, 1916, to August and Ida (Beckstrand) Carlson in Warwick Township, Benson County. He grew up on the family farm north of Warwick in Warwick Township. He was educated in Warwick Schools. Lloyd married Margaret Anderson on June 19, 1940. Together they had four children, Pat, Doug, Dwight (Ike), and Dallas. They made their home on the family farm. While on the farm Pat (1941), Doug (1943), and Ike (1947) were born. In the fall of 1950, they moved into Warwick. Dallas was born in 1956. While living in Warwick Lloyd worked as a custodian at the school, drove school bus, and worked on road construction for Archie Cambell. Later Lloyd became a Benson County Deputy Sheriff. At the time of his death Lloyd was the Benson County Tax Equalization Director. Over the years Lloyd served on the Warwick Town Board, was Mayor, Cemetery Board, and the Tax Equalization Board. At the time of his death Lloyd was a member of the Sons of Norway and the Warwick Lutheran Church. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 33 years, Margaret, daughter, Pat (Stan) Sigette; sons, Doug (Darlene) Carlson, Dwight (Sherrie) Carlson, all from Devils Lake, and Dallas at home; foster daughters, Amelia and Corrine Hulst at home; 11 grandchildren; and his brother, Alfred Carlson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Arthur.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
