Summary: Patrick L. Sinclair, 74, of Killdeer, ND, passed away May 18, 2026, at Sanford Medical in Fargo, ND. A funeral service was held May 28, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Killdeer. Burial was at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND. Patrick "Pat" Sinclair was born on June 9, 1951, in Bismarck, ND, to Irvin and Loretta (Frank) Sinclair. He was raised in Flasher and attended Saint Lawrence Catholic School until the sixth grade and graduated from Flasher High School. Following graduation, Pat proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. During his service, he was involved in a search and rescue mission where he went missing in action. While serving, he was injured and awarded a Purple Heart. Pat spent time with his brother, Paul before eventually moving back to Flasher, where he met Jacqueline Maas. The two were united in marriage on June 26, 1976, at Good Shepherd Church in Bismarck, ND. Pat and his "favorite wife," Jackie, lived in Flasher for several years, spent a short time in Linton, and eventually settled in Killdeer, where they made their home for the remainder of his life. Pat dedicated more than 30 years of his life to Southwest Grain, beginning in 1982. He worked long hours and built many meaningful relationships with the farmers and customers he served throughout the years. He was deeply dedicated to his work and took pride not only in the job itself, but also in the people he worked alongside. Pat also enjoyed writing articles for the elevator and valued the connections and friendships made throughout his career. He retired in 2013 at the age of 62. Pat loved the outdoors and could often be found camping, fishing, trapping, rattlesnake hunting, or walking fields in search of arrowheads. Pat was known for always having gum, mints, and candy close by. He had a special heart for children, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandkids. Pat could best be described as a steel-covered marshmallow - tough on the outside, but soft-hearted underneath. Pat was also a proud recovering alcoholic for 44 years. His sobriety was one of his greatest accomplishments, and he dedicated much of his life to helping others on the same journey. As a sponsor, Pat offered encouragement, understanding, and support to many people throughout the years. Those who knew Pat will always remember his familiar saying, "Unless otherwise instructed - have a good day!" His kindness, humor, steady presence, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He faced all of his health challenges with humor and wit until the end. Pat was a member of the American Legion and the Booster Club and card clubs with his friends. He valued the friendships he made throughout the years and treasured the time spent with family and friends. Pat is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Sinclair; children, Trevor (Shayla) Sinclair, Tjaden Sinclair and Jadah (Samuel) Kerr; grandchildren, Treston, Truvy, Trajan, Tandyn, Jackson, Brielle, Thornton, Everett, Makiah, Ahava, Addalee, Annaliese, Ariah, and Althea; brothers, Mark (Carol) Sinclair and Paul Sinclair (significant other, Deb Shaefer Riehl); sister, Michelle (Keith) Sayler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Loretta Sinclair; and his granddaughters, Tresha, Taylee, and Lola.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
