Summary: Judith (Lies) Bartlett, 81, died July 6, 2026, at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND, after a courageous fight against two types of cancer. A Mass of Christian burial was held July 14, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, McHenry, ND. Burial was at Bethlehem Cemetery, McHenry. Judy was born in New Rockford, ND, on August 28, 1944, to Anna Mary Margaret and Hubert Lies. She lived and went to a country school east of Barlow, ND, until her father passed away and the family moved to New Rockford. She graduated from St. James Academy in 1962. She married Arthur “Keith” Bartlett on October 20, 1962, and the couple enjoyed 53 beautiful years together. Judy and Keith moved to Renton, WA, in February of 1963. They were blessed with four children before moving to Minnesota. Their last daughter, Mandy, joined the family after they moved back to North Dakota. Judy worked at Fingerhut Plant before moving to Glenfield. She worked at different places in Glenfield, including Wayne’s Grocery, a gas station where she worked as a waitress and later an attendant, and drove school bus for Glenfield School and Midkota for 20 years. Judy also worked at the USPS as a PMR for 30 years and was in charge for the last 3 years. Judy also served on the McHenry Ambulance as a First Aider and EMT for 10 years. She gave of her time and energy to help others and was an avid blood donor of 6 gallons. She loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Judy had a love and appreciation for gardening and working on puzzles. She could often be found out in nature admiring her flowers and watching the birds. She enjoyed camping and fishing during the summer months with family. Judy moved to Jamestown in November of 2018, and there she made many friends and enjoyed coffee time with family and friends. Judy will be forever missed by her children, Christine (Calvin) Knutson, Jesse (Jackie) Rylen, Lila, Devin (Sharlynn), Henley, Hadalyn, Cory (Abbi), Bria and Baby Sister, Cynthia (Ronn) Stangeland, Shana (Adam), Ava, Keegan, Whitney (Remy), Ethan (Aleah), Aubrie, Jonah, Letti, Brian (Lisa) Jamie, Brittney, Jordan, Robin Knutson, Josh (Brooke), Noah (Val), Braeden, Mandy (Josh) Burbank, Miren, Harper, Eli, Arthur; siblings, Robbie, Shirley, JoAnn, Bunny, and Susie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; great-grandson, Hayden; her parents; three brothers, Bud, Dean, and Mayo; and two sisters, Pat and Monie.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
