Summary: With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clarence Wolff, 87, of Carrington, ND, on July 27, 2026. A funeral service was held August 3, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington. A private graveside service was held at the Gackle Cemetery. Clarence was born on May 20, 1939, on the family farm near Gackle, ND. He was the son of Jacob and Rosa (Metzger) Wolff. Clarence married the love of his life, Della Mae Spitzer, on September 5, 1960. They welcomed three daughters, Vicky, Camilla, and Holly. In the first few years, the family moved several times as Clarence worked construction, oilfields, Boeing, and driving propane truck. They lived in five different states. In 1972, he started working for Montana Dakota Utilities in Jamestown, ND, and in 1976 he was promoted to district rep in Carrington, ND, where he retired after 26 years with MDU. He was a volunteer fireman for 48 years, a city councilman for eight years, and served as a board member at Trinity Lutheran Church. Clarence retired in 1998, and they spent every winter in Texas and a few in Arizona. They treasured the friendships they made, the places they explored, and, most importantly, the time they shared together. Clarence loved to take the family camping, boating, fishing, and water skiing as often as possible. He loved to play cards, board games and always seemed to have luck on his side. He loved ice cream and was known for his “malts.” He was always willing to make a “malt” for grandkids when they came to visit. Above all else, Clarence was a devoted husband, a great brother, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by his family and watching it grow through the generations. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle nature, steadfast support, and unconditional love. Clarence is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Della; his daughters, Camilla and Holly; his cherished grandchildren, Curtis (Shani), Ashley (Ben), Rory (Alexis), and Chelsey (Mike); treasured great-grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, Alijah, Alexis, Jasmine, Liam, Ethan, Elliot, Lilliana, Charley, Baby due in November, Maci, Parker, and Paige. He also leaves behind one brother Stan, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends who will forever hold his memory close. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Rosa; daughter, Vicky Lynn; sister, Irene (Glenn) Zillmer, sister, Lorraine (George) Williams; sister-in-law, Evie Wolff; son-in-law, Kyle Koch; grandsons, Christopher and Michael Reisnour; and great-granddaughter, Mya Schiele.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
