Title: The Old Chuck Wagon has Not Yet Ben Abandoned

Summary: Hauled out the first day of roundup. It's still used. Women generally accompanied the roundup in the early days though they did the cooking only in the absence of the regular cook. Daddy Christensen, father of V. J. Christensen, served as roundup cook for many years and his reputation as a mobile chef is widely respected. Only once did he allow women to take his place-which was regretted no more by him than by the cowboys. Photo by Leo D. Harris

Summary: Research and organizational files of the 50 Years in the Saddle Club (Watford City, N.D.) and images collected by Manfred Signalness to be used in Volumes 3 and 4 of the 50 Years in the Saddle: Looking Back Down the Trail. The collection documents biographies and stories of ranchers and other residents of western North Dakota. The organization published the Series: 50 Years in the Saddle: Looking Back Down the Trail.
