Title: Homestead shack interior 1911 Addie Myrtle Bell Teacher Eden School

Inscription/Marks: The notations on the back date and identify the image, and cite page 323 of Prairie Tales.
Summary: From the book Prairie Tales, a history of Bowman County (N.D.), this photograph shows a section of the interior of teacher Addie Myrtle Bell's homestead shack. This is a very personal look at the possessions of which she was the most proud. A small japanned case, a souvenir pillow and a photograph album nestle in front of embroidered pillows on the bedspead. The wall-papered wall by the bed is decorated with all manner of treasured items-postcards and pictures hang on the wall, and a white-skirted shelf holds vases and trinkets. Addie Bell was a teacher at the Eden School.
