Inscription/Marks: On the front of the image is inked "Fort A. Lincoln.
Summary: Taken by D,F. Barry from hill to the north west of the site, Fort Abraham Lincoln is shown as it appears in a snowy winter. The Missouri River is visible at the left, with buildings near the bank within the fort footprint. The forested sections begin below the last military structures along the river. a large corral is to the north of the main camp area. The layout of the barracks, work buildings, and the officer's homes shows them arranged around four sides of an open field. A row of telegraph poles crosses diagonally through the scene.
