Inscription/Marks: On the photograph in ink is the name Red Cloud. On the folder back: Red Cloud when old.
Summary: Formally photographed by D. F. Barry, Red Cloud wears a feathered headdress, banded with beading and two bunches of downward hanging feathers. His light shirt is worn under a dark vest and a wide breastplate of pipe bone beads. He is not a young man. Red Cloud was one of the most important leaders of the Oglala Lakota. He led from 1868 to 1909. This image seems to be one of Red Cloud in his later years.
