Title: John Sitting Bull, Sitting Bull's son

Inscription/Marks: On the folder back: John Sitting Bull Sitting Bull's son.
Summary: Studio portrait of the head and shoulders of John Sitting Bull, son of the Hunkpapa leader Sitting Bull. His eagle feather headdress is bound with a beaded band and beaded rosettes. A pale scarf is knotted at his neck,an a mantle of fur is over his shirt and vest. His vest is decorated with shells. He sits in a studio chair, face slightly inclined to the left. Said to be deaf, John Sitting Bull fought briefly at the Battle of the Little Big Horn, though only 14 years old at the time. He later worked with the Wild West Show, and for the film industry.
