Inscription/Marks: Stamped on the front: PTA PICNIC. On the back: 28-2.
Summary: Large group of men, women and children standing or sitting outdoors in front of trees. In the foreground on the left is an automobile with rounded window for driver and small sidelight for passengers and rear window. It has a double grill bumper on the back with license plate ND 140-066. A spare tie is affixed to the rear of the automobile in the back. Most of the women are wearing coats with cloche hats, the men are wearing suit coats, white shirts and ties, and the girls are wearing dresses, boys have short pants with shirts and sweaters. A shelter is at the right, a low building with an overhanging roof. The Missouri River is in the distance. The picture was taken by the McLean County (N.D.) Superintendent of Schools, Arthur E. Thompson.
