Title: Playground apparatus outside of a one room school

Inscription/Marks: On the front: *Playground Apparatus* One Room School. On the back: 28-3..0028-003.
Summary: Children pose on a Mitchell merry-go-round, which was patented in 1926 by the Mitchell Manufacturing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The merry-go-round is made of pipes, planks of wood and cable. The merry-go-round, not only goes in circles, but with this swivel joint, each of the vertical poles can push in toward the center, around in a loop, and out again, while the merry-go-round is going around. At the top of the middle pipe is a flag with Mitchell Mfg. Co.. The boys are all wearing overalls and the girls are wearing dresses. The young teacherl has a white dress with white tights, dress shoes and a cloche hat. The flat plains stretch off to the horizon in the background.
