Summary: This postcard image taken in the mid-1920s shows the front and east side of the Hotel McKenzie, owned by Ed Patterson, at a diagonal from across the street. A horse drawn carriage is parked next to the east sidewalk facing an automobile parked beyond it on the same side. A barbers pole stands on the corner of Main Avenue and Fifth Street, in Bismarck (N.D.), with the door to the inside of the hotel standing open. A man is walking from the corner next to the Womens' Civic Club garden to the sidewalk on the south side of the McKenzie. The image was printed in the Nonpartisan Leader Vol. 2, No. 5, February 3, 1916 p9, with the caption: Dedicated to Power Behind the Throne. This is the McKenzie hotel at Bismarck, built and owned by E. G. Patterson, county commissioner, and named for Alexander McKenzie. Patterson is proud to be known as being

Summary: Images of agriculture, the Nonpartisan League, and buildings. Many of the images were used in the Nonpartisan Leader. Photographs were taken in Bismarck, Brantford, Buffalo Spring, Esmond, Fargo, Hekton, McKenzie, Pretty Rock, Williston and Wyndmere (N.D.).
