Images were originally donated to Minnesota Historical Society February 25 1935 by Arthur Benson Gilbert, editor of the Nonpartisan Leader. Images were used in the publication. The images were transferred to the State Historical Society of North Dakota in 1959 and placed in the 00055 Collection. Some images were separated out for use and added to the A through E collections. The images have now been returned to the original collection.
Summary: Two men in work clothes photo right work on finishing the Grassland Consolidated School, Grassland (N.D.). All around the school are parts that are waiting to be installed or debris from the construction. A recessed entrance is accessible by steps to the interior of the two story clapboard building with full basement. Double-hung windows have built in storm windows in the upper sections. Shingles cover the roof with debris still visible from installation. A brick chimney and bell tower top the roof. The edge of the bell tower, roof line and edge of the building have been enhanced with pencil to aid in reproduction.

Summary: Images of agriculture, the Nonpartisan League, and buildings. Many of the images were used in the Nonpartisan Leader. Photographs were taken in Bismarck, Brantford, Buffalo Spring, Esmond, Fargo, Hekton, McKenzie, Pretty Rock, Williston and Wyndmere (N.D.).
