Title: Looking east along Main Street, Sanish (N.D.)
Date: 1950
Inscription/Marks: On the back: col. 63-01g, a red stamped "519C", and " Main Street, Sanish, looking east".
Summary: The photographer identified only by the name "Grant" presents a view of the main street of Sanish (N.D.), as seen looking east from a vacant lot at the edge of the commercial section of town, in 1950. A well established trail on trodden dirt leads across an empty town lot in a straight line to the sidewalk that commences as the stores begin. Both sides of the street have one and two story structures which house town businesses. Trucks and cars are parked by the curbs but no people are visible. The town had not yet been emptied of its residents and inundated by the waters of the Garrison Reservoir.
