Title: Governor's Mansion invitation, Bismarck (N.D.)
Date: 4/30/1902
Inscription/Marks: On the front the date "1902" is penciled under the photgraph. On the back is the state stamp, 0071-5, and "F22".
Summary: Half-toned printed leaflet with image of Executive Mansion or Former Governor's Mansion built by Asa Fisher in Bismarck, in 1884 as a private home, and sold to the state in 1893. The text under the image: "Executive Mansion Bismarck (N.D.).--Know all men by these presents, that the bearer, being with others here assembled upon the evening of April Thirtieth, Nineteen Hundred and tow, was subjected to the geographical test. It was found that he hath great knowledge of the land and the sea, and may with safety be permitted to sojourn without the boundaries of the state, even unto the gates of St. Paul." At this time the seated governor of the state was Frank White.
