Summary: The front windows of the living room in the Old Governor's Mansion at 320 E. Avenue B, Bismarck (N.D.) have lace curtains filtering the light coming into the room. Typical late Victorian furnishing is in the room-spindle and spool chairs, a wooden rocker, a drop-front man's desk, and a mirror-backed knick-knack-holding chiffonier, placed in a high-visibility spot between the windows. Plates and pictures hang on the wallpapered walls. A heavy curtain is drawn back in the entry between the foyer and the living room. From the collection of Marian Burke, daughter of the 10th governor, John Burke. They occupied the house from 1907-1913.
