Title: The Northeast bedroom in the Old Governor's Mansion, Bismarck (N.D.)
Date: 2/1955
Creator: Olson, Cal
Inscription/Marks: On the back: col-69.
Summary: A 1955 photograph of one of the bedrooms in the Old Governor's Mansion, Bismarck (N.D.), which dates to the Brunsdale family occupancy of the home. Other than the two beds with their dark wood bedsteads and crocheted coverlets, the furniture consists of a round wood-framed mirror over a large dark dresser, which is covered with a dresser scarf and has lamps and knick-knacks arranged on top. A dark dresser is against the window wall. The window has frilly curtains. An oriental rug is on the floor, and the walls are papered with a floral pattern and a scalloped border. The Brunsdales were in residence from 1951 to 1956, and Gov. Davis and his family from 1957 until the move to the new quarters in 1960. This photograph appeared in a February 13, 1955 Fargo Forum story with photographs of the current mansion after the legislature approved the construction of a new mansion.
