Title: Living room of the Old Governor's Mansion, Bismarck (N.D.)

Inscription/Marks: On the back: col. 71-70.
Summary: In this 1955 photograph of the interior of the Old Governor's Mansion, Bismarck (N.D.), the north part of the room is presented. The fireplace is on the north wall, with a picture centered over it. The large east window lets plenty of light into the room. A table for cards is set in the center of the room, and comfortable furniture of modern design is arranged around the space. An oriental carpet covers the hardwood floor. This photograph appeared in a February 13, 1955 Fargo Forum story with photographs of the current mansion after the legislature approved the construction of a new mansion. Gov. Brunsdale served from 1951-1957, and was succeeded by Governor Davis.
