Item: 00292
Title: Construction project by the WPA for a new Sheridan County Courthouse in McClusky (N.D.)
Date: 4/22/1905
Inscription/Marks: On the front in green ink: McClusky Court House. On the back: 0075-292, and "B69" stamped in red.
Summary: Trees block some of the view at the construction site of the new Courthouse, in McClusky (N.D.). The 52' x 88' concrete and steel reinforced structure was completed in 1939. It is listed now on the National Register of Historic Places, identified as 32SH668. In this image, a single story has been built, and work is progressing on another level. Brackets are placed around the walls, and rebar sticks up from the lower completed sections. Wooden framing for construction purpose forms a fence-like wall at the top of the finished sections. It is clear that the finished building will be in the Art Deco style.
