Corn cover crop planted between the rows of trees to hold snow and stop soil from blowing, Taken by W.H. shaffer-August 1939".
Summary: A band of corn rows forms a strip bordering a large field on a farm near Warwick (N.D.). This is identified as a corn cover crop planted with the intention of creating a windbreak to hold snow and prevent wind erosion of the soil in the field. A rural road can be seen at the side of the field, and farm buildings are on the horizon.
