Summary: In casuals slacks and vests gubernatorial candidate Art Link and his wife, Grace, dance during an opening Intertribal song at the 1976 United Tribes Powwow, in Bismarck, N.D. Other native dancers in regalia are dancing in the oudoor open dance bower, as well. Elected first in 1973, Link was seeking re-election. Taken during the annual event held that year around July 15th, by a Bismarck Tribune photographer, possibly Leo LaLonde, Steve Wallick, Ted Quanrud, or Jerry Anderson, all working at the paper during this period, and part of a collection of several decades of newspaper photographs donated by the Tribune.
