Summary: Two older women seated on ground playing "Sha-we" game with bachdushke basket and game pieces. The basket and game pieces are in the SHSND Museum Collection as Accession #161. This photograph was used as the illustration opposite page 444 in Oring G. Libby, ed., Collections of the State Historical Society of North Dakota, Volume 1, (Bismarck, N.D.: Tribune, State Printers and binders, 1906), pp. 444 and 445. It has the caption: "Playing the Mandan women's game." Detail images of te basket and the pieces were also illustrated with images from this collection. [email from Mark J.
