Summary: Tinted Lithograph, image approx. 6 x 9 inches on sheet 8 x 11 ¼ inches. Plate XVI, taken from the 12th volume, Part I, of the Report of the United States Pacific Railroad Expedition and Surveys (USPRR) - 47th and 49th Parallels published by Washington, D.C. Thomas Ford, Printer, 1860 . The Survey was undertaken to find the most practicable and economical route for a railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific. Illustrated by John Mix Stanley. Lithographed by Sarony, Major & Knapp, Lithographers.
