Title: Wedding of Katherine Bischoff and Joseph Burckhard
Date: 11/23/1910
Creator: Halvorson, Mark J
Summary: Katherine Bischoff and Joseph Burckhard were married at St. Anselm’s at Fulda on November 23, 1910. Like their parents and grandparents in the Kutschurgan district of Russia, they were married in the morning, followed by a wedding dinner in the afternoon, with dancing into the evening. The white ribbons, flowers and veil symbolized purity, and like here mother in the old country, the black dress would be practical for Sunday services, weddings, and funerals. Same as 00441-00002. Bride and groom Joseph Burkhard and Katherine Bischoff stand on porch of house in background with attendees gathered in group in foreground. They were married at St. Anselm’s of Fulda, southeast of Berwick (N.D.) in Pierce County.Used in Germans: Emigrants from the Empires Exhibit
