Summary: Vignetted head and shoulders, full face studio portrait of Elizabeth (Sali/Sahli) Bischoff. Used in her obituary. Peter Bischoff was born October 1, 1845 in Kandel, near Odessa, Russia to Valentin and Mary Bischoff. He married Elizabeth Sali/Sahli, who was born the 13th of March 1847 to Jacob and Katherine Sall (Sali/Sahli ). To this union was born: Bernard of Rugby; Veronica, Mrs. Simon Huber of Devils Lake; Marlon, Mrs. Hiener Krause of Towner; Gunda, Mrs. Kosmos Heisler of Rugby; Nicholas of Rugby; Magdalena, Mrs. Phillip Dettling of Northfield, Minnesota; and Katherine Mrs. Joseph Burckhard of Yakima, Washington. On December 23, 1898 they immigrated to this country, arriving on the S.S. Adria and landing in New York. They went to Aberdeen, South Dakota and lived there until coming to North Dakota in the spring of 1900. Peter and Elizabeth homesteaded land in Township 155 N, Range 75 W. They lived on their farm until moving in with their son Nicholas prior to their deaths. Peter passed away September 3, 1925 and Elizabeth passed away December 8, 1929.Copied from black and white 16x20 photographic print.
