Title: Joe Wilson hauling a Lockheed Hudson into Canada from North Dakota with a team of horses
Date: 02/1940
Summary: Joe Wilson is at the reigns of a team of two horses pulling a Lockheed Hudson airplane across the United States-Canadian border during the early days of World War II. A second man watches, and a row of parked automobiles are visible in the background. Various military aircraft were hauled across the US-Canada Border by horse in the early days of WWII to circumvent neutrality laws. Neutrality laws prevented the British or French to fly airplanes for the war effort from the United States to their final destination, and prevented American pilots from doing the same. If the planes could be gotten across the border in some other way, then American neutrality would remain intact.
