Title: The Northeast bedroom in the Old Governor's Mansion, Bismarck (N.D.)

Inscription/Marks: On the back: 0071-35, "#11", "Gokey Col.", "Bedroom", and the state stamp.
Summary: This photograph of the northeast corner bedroom in the Old Governor's Mansion in Bismarck (N.D.) dates from the days of the William Langer administrations. Unclear if it is from the 1932-1934 term or the 1937-1939 term. According to oral interviews with Mrs. F. Gokey, the former Mary Langer, this bedroom 's furnishings are largely state-owned, but the crocheted bedspreads on the twin beds belong to the Langer family. Other than the two beds with their dark wood bedsteads, the furniture consists of a round wood-framed mirror over a large dark dresser, which is covered with a dresser scarf and has a little lamp and knick-knacks arranged on top. A small desk and chair are against the window wall. An oriental rug is on the floor, and the walls are papered with a floral pattern. Much of the state furnishings were banished to a storage room, and furniture belonging to Mrs. Langer used instead. This room was used by some of the daughters and also at times became a guest room. From the family collections of Mrs. Gokey.
