Title: Two unidentified little girls on the lawn of the Old Governor's Mansion, Bismarck (N.D.)
Date: 10/11/1952
Inscription/Marks: On the back: 0071-39-03, and Oct. 11, 1952.
Summary: Two little girls try out their Halloween witch hats in the backyard of the Old Governor's Mansion, Bismarck (N.D.). One smiling child wears her hat with a dark sweater and pants, the other with a sweater and skirt. The house just to the north of the mansion is behind them, and the date of the picture is Oct. 11, 1953. Governor C. Norman Brunsdale's tenure in the residence corresponds with this- 1951-1957. Brunsdale and his wife, Carrie Lajord, had two daughters, Margaret Marie and Helen Lucille. They married in 1954 and 1955, respectively. He was appointed to fill William Langer's Senate seat after Langer's death in office.
