Title: Two girls outside the Carriage House of the Old Governor's Mansion, Bismarck (N.D.)
Date: Circa 1955
Inscription/Marks: On the back: 0071-39-27, "No Date", and "27".
Summary: In a casual snapshot scene outside the Carriage House belonging to the Old Governor's Mansion, Bismarck (N.D.), two young girls pose in front of a garden area. They are dressed in light-weight dresses with collars, dark bobby-socks and shoes. The taller girl, in braids, appears about 10 years old, her sister about 8. Unidentified, but likely to be two of the four daughters of the governors' chauffeur, Phil Fetch. The family had quarters in the Carriage House. Taken in the 1950s. It is unclear which Governor's family was in residence at this time, Aandahl left office in 1951, and was succeeded by Brunsdale from 1951-1957, and then Davis from 1957-1961.
