Inscription/Marks: [Handwritten in black ink on negative] H1022 Government Weather Bureau, Bismarck N.D.
Summary: A large antenna stands on a lawn with weather information gathering equipment below it. In the background sits the two-story main building, partially obscured by trees. The upper porch area, photo left, with railing has the lower portion covered with vines. Water barrels sit on back of attached shed next to garage. Irises and roses line the sidewalk running the length of the building. A tent is pitched on the lawn, far photo right. Across the street, photo left, is the Oakland Auto Sales building. [Camp Hancock was originally known as Camp Greeley, founded in 1872. The name changed the following year. The site initially was the supply depot for Fort Lincoln. The post, as seen here, became an office of the Weather Bureau after it was no longer needed to supply Fort Lincoln. Today the site is located in Bismarck on West Main Street.]
