Summary: Three-quarter view of front entrance and right side of Emanuel German Evangelical Church located at the corner of 7th Street and Rosser Avenue in Bismarck (N.D.). [History] [Bismarck_Tribune_Sun__Nov_29__1914_p01] Evangelical Church on corner of Rosser Avenue and Seventh Street was dedicated by Bishop S. P. Spreng, D. D. of Naperville (Ill.) during the evening service on Sunday, November 29, 1914 when the sermon will be given in English. The church building, constructed at a cost of $11,000 has been built along attractive lines, the interior being beautifully appointed and the space utilized to the best possible advantage. The auditorium has a seating capacity of 300, with space so that chairs can be placed at the back. The choir loft is built to the side on the same level with the pulpit and is big enough to accommodate an exceptionally large number for special services. The members of the choir, together with the Young People’s Alliance, has presented one of the beautiful art glass windows. Another beautiful window was given by the Ladies Aid society, another by the Bismarck Alumni Association of 1912-1914, and another by Mrs. Emilie Strutz, who died last spring, also presented all of the small art glass windows in the church. A big basement, excellently lighted is used for the Sunday school room, with a kitchen adjoining. The pastor’s study is on the main floor, while a big store room has been built above the lobby. Construction work was begun last July, and the finished building as it stands today is a distinct credit to this city.
