Title: Annie Alkire Grass Two Bears

Summary: Annie Alkire was born to Samuel Alkire and Mary Her Pipe in 1870. She grew up in Fort Yates, ND with six other siblings. Annie first married John Grass Jr and from that union Albert Grass and Ernest was born. John Grass jr passed away in 1901 from a length illness. Annie Alkire then married Basil Two Bears 22 Dec 1901 at Cannon Ball, North Dakota. From this union Ruth Alice, Gertrude, Benjamin, Alma, Albert Memorial, and Leon Two Bears were born. She was the first Indian Gold Star Mother.
